🐾The Garden is Not Enclosed. Our own sheep graze in the surrounding fields, and although they seem calm, they’re easily spooked. Even if a dog isn’t on the same side of the fence, just looking like it might chase can send them into flight mode — and sadly, that kind of stress can lead to serious harm.
Enclosing the area can also give a false sense of security, which sometimes leads (even unintentionally) to dogs being left unsupervised, causing things like digging, mess on the lawn, or disturbing wildlife.
That’s why we’ve chosen to keep the garden open, and kindly ask that dogs are kept under close control at all times. Thanks so much for understanding — it really helps us look after our sheep and the land. 🐑

Owl Lodge – The Story Behind the Name
Why did we choose this name for our self-catering accommodation? If you keep your eyes peeled around the field, you might just spot Little Owls perched on the fence posts or a Barn Owl gracefully hunting. As night falls, listen out for the call of the Tawny Owl—sometimes, they even settle in the oak tree near the lodge.
