Field House Farm is a smallholding rather than a working commercial farm, but wildlife and animals remain an important part of everyday life. Guests regularly spot Barn Owls, Little Owls, Red Kites, deer, hares, woodpeckers, swallows and many other species around the farm. Here are a few recent sightings and moments from the farm.

Red Kite, Song Thrush & Swallow

I was walking back to the house when I spotted this Song Thrush on the barn roof. They are usually hidden away in the trees, so it was nice to see one out in the open.

Whilst filming, a Red Kite appeared overhead and a swallow flew through the shot. Even on a grey day, there is always something interesting to see or hear.

Recent Sightings

A barn owl has recently been seen emerging from the owl box installed earlier this year. We are hopeful the box may be used for breeding, although it is still too early to know for certain.
